The above organisations are presently the only inspectorate bodies recognised by the police and insurance companies. A security company must be currently registered with one of these bodies to be considered for inclusion to the relevant police force list. A Company must be on the police list to allow a URN to be supplied to allow police response to a security system, located within that police area.
Do not be misled by claims that the ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre) will immediately notify police of alarm activation. They may inform them, but the police will not attend if the Security Company and the ARC is not registered and does not possess a CURRENT URN number for the premises.
